According to a report published in Singapore, it has been revealed that consuming mushrooms more than twice in a week can prevent memory loss problems, especially among the people belonging to the mid-60s. The study has also revealed that an antioxidant present in the mushrooms can have a protective effect on the brain.
Implementing the consumption of mushrooms in your diet can minimize the risk for occurrence of MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), which is generally known as a type of memory disability and is often related to the Alzheimer’s disease. The more mushrooms one intake, the better they can perform in the thinking process. The researchers have also stated that it was impossible for them to establish a direct link between brain function and fungi.
These studies were revealed by the researchers of the National University of Singapore. It was conducted between 2011 and 2017 on 663 Chinese people who were above 60 years of age. The results were based upon the constant monitoring of their diet and lifestyle between the mentioned period. The conclusion was that eating mushrooms lessened the possibility of cognitive disability or memory loss.
